District police Reasi conducts Joint Anti-Begging drive in Katra

REASI, Jan 29: District Police Reasi today conducted a joint Anti-Begging Drive in collaboration with PARYS (Smile Shelter Home) at various locations across Katra town with the objective of curbing the menace of begging and ensuring the welfare and rehabilitation of destitute persons.
During the course of the drive, 11 beggars were rescued from different public places in Katra town. All the rescued individuals were subsequently shifted to Smile Shelter Home, DD Panghal, Katra, for proper care, shelter and rehabilitation as per established norms.
The drive was carried out in a humane and coordinated manner, focusing on social welfare, rehabilitation and reintegration of the rescued persons into society. District Police Reasi reiterated its commitment to maintaining public order while simultaneously addressing social issues through coordination with welfare organizations.
The whole operation was carried out by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS.
SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS appealed to the general public to refrain from encouraging begging and instead support such rehabilitation initiatives, assuring that similar drives will continue in the future in collaboration with concerned stakeholders.
