NSS Unit of SG GDC Doongi organises awareness programme on drug abuse

JAMMU, Jan 31: NSS unit of S. G GDC Doongi in collaboration with Department of youth service and Sports organised, an awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and the ill-effects of drug abuse in compliance with the directions of the worthy District Development Commissioner Rajouri and District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Rajouri under the guidance and chairmanship of Dr.(Prof.) Chanchal Angral the Principal of the college. who highlighted the vital role of educational institutions in guiding youth towards positive and responsible living. She urged students to stay away from drugs and contribute towards building a healthy society.,. The programme was organized with the objective of sensitizing students about the harmful physical, mental, and social consequences of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among youth. Mr. Khalil Hussain Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO), Doongi, was also present on the occasion. He emphasized the importance of sports and physical activities as effective means to channel youth energy in a positive direction and to keep them away from substance abuse. Around 60 students and staff members attended and actively Participated in the programme. The event concluded with a pledge to support the mission of a Nasha Mukt Bharat and to spread awareness against drug abuse. The Staff members who were Present on the Occasion were programme Officer of the NSS Unit, Prof. Ahsan Ahmed, Dr. Nishu Sharma, Dr.Mukhtar Hussain, Dr. Shokit Hussain, and Satish Kumar.
