Seminar organized to commemorate 350th martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

MANDI GOBINDGARH, Jan 31: A symposium dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was organized in Dr PN Chutani Auditoriam IMA. The seminar was held to remember and honor the supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji for the protection of religious freedom and human values.
The Governor of Punjab, HE Gulab Chand Kataria, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. While addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest highlighted that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's martyrdom stands as an unparalleled sacrifice in world history, as he laid down his life for the protection of religious freedom, human rights, and moral values. He emphasized that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji stood firmly against oppression and tyranny and sacrificed himself to safeguard the freedom of conscience of the people. He further stated that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's martyrdom was not for any one religion or community, but for the welfare of the entire humanity. His teachings continue to inspire generations to uphold the ideals of truth, courage, tolerance, and justice.
Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Zora Singh, and Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, were also present on the occasion. On this occasion, Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, also paid rich tributes to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and spoke about the relevance of his teachings in the present era. Prominent personalities present at the seminar included Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court; Justice Jasgurpreet Singh Puri; Justice K.S. Ahluwalia (Retd.); senior advocate Baljinder Singh Khaira; S. Satnam Singh Sandhu; renowned actress Preeti Sapru; Giani Sahib Singh; Senior Journalist Roopinder Singh; Dr. Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, former Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Central University; and Prof. Karamjit Kaur Malhotra, who addressed the gathering on the occasion. A large number of academicians, scholars, students, and dignitaries attended the seminar. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to all the guests and participants.
