HRDP launched in Rajouri to Boost Rural Development

RAJOURI, Mar 11: The inaugural event of the Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP) was organized in Rajouri district under the joint collaboration of Ashray Foundation and HDFC Parivartan, with the participation of government officials, community representatives and local residents.
The programme focuses on the overall development of rural areas by strengthening the rural economy, infrastructure, employment opportunities, agriculture and improving the living standards of people in villages. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADDC) Rajouri, Malik Sharaz, appreciated the welfare initiatives taken under the programme and assured full support from the district administration for the successful implementation of such developmental projects.
During the programme, HDFC Cluster Head Owaish Rehman highlighted the organization's commitment to the development of aspirational and rural areas. District Planning Educational Officer Sardari Lal also appreciated the efforts of Ashray Foundation and HDFC Parivartan for renovating government schools and improving unsafe school infrastructure, stating that such initiatives will help strengthen the education sector and reduce school dropout rates. He assured that the Education Department will extend full cooperation to further support these activities.
Program Manager Ashray Foundation, Reyaz Ahmad Mir, informed that the foundation has renovated eight schools, installed water coolers, introduced BALA activities, and provided fencing in school premises, resulting in an increase of around 70 students in school enrollment. The organization has also renovated Anganwadi centres, installed street lights in villages, and supported livelihood initiatives such as goat rearing, reflecting a strong collaborative effort towards the holistic development of rural communities in Rajouri district.
