Jammu police arrested drug peddler from Talab Tillo area

JAMMU, Mar 13: In a significant action against drug trafficking, a police team from Jammu Police apprehended a suspected drug peddler during routine patrolling in the Talab Tillo area of Jammu.
Today on 13.03.2026,at about 1600 hours, a police party from Police Post Talab Tillo, in collaboration with District Special Branch Jammu, was conducting patrolling within its jurisdiction. When the team reached Kabir Colony, Talab Tillo, one individual attempted to flee on noticing the police presence, raising suspicion.
The person was swiftly intercepted and identified as Satyam Kumar, son of Parmod Kumar, resident of Hajuri Bagh, Colonel Colony, Jammu. During his personal search, the police recovered approximately 8 grams of heroin-like substance along with an electronic weighing machine from his possession.
The accused was immediately taken into custody and the recovered contraband seized as per procedure.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 47/2026 under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 has been registered at the concerned police station and further investigation is underway.
Jammu Police reiterated its firm commitment to curb the menace of drug trafficking and urged citizens to cooperate by sharing any information related to narcotics activities, assuring strict action against those involved in drug peddling.
