Need To Preserve Peace
3/13/2026 10:48:02 PM

In a stern warning to anti-peace elements, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated that no one will be allowed to disturb the peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
He reminded the people that security forces, including J&K Police and central forces, have paid a heavy price for establishing peace in the Union Territory.
Bravehearts laid down their lives to foil the nefarious designs of Pakistan and the terrorists sponsored by it. For decades, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have endured the devastating consequences of violence and terrorism. Lives were lost, families were shattered, and development remained stalled for years.
However, the situation changed after August 5, 2019, when the Centre announced its decision to revoke Article 370, and merged J&K completely with the Union of India. During the past six years, the security forces have broken the back of terrorists and their supporters.
The terror eco-system stands dismantled and the separatists have been cut to size.
People are reaping the benefits of peace which has come after paying a heavy price. It’s the duty of every J&K citizen to ensure that peace prevails and anti-peace elements don’t get any space in the society. Allowing anti-peace forces to undo these gains would be a betrayal of those who laid down their lives for the region’s future.
Today, the dividends of peace are becoming increasingly visible. }
Tourism has revived, infrastructure projects are gaining momentum, and economic opportunities are expanding. Young people, who once saw uncertainty as their only future, now aspire to careers, entrepreneurship, and education. Social life, cultural activities, and public participation in development initiatives have also increased. These changes demonstrate how peace can transform a region’s destiny and restore hope among its people.
The success of peace cannot rely solely on security agencies; it must also be protected by citizens who reject violence and support stability. Communities must remain vigilant and united against those who attempt to create unrest.
Young people, in particular, must be encouraged to choose paths of education, innovation, and constructive engagement rather than falling prey to destructive ideologies.
In this context, civil society, religious leaders, educators, and local institutions all have an important role to play.
They can strengthen social harmony, promote dialogue, and encourage values that reject extremism. Peace is not only the absence of conflict but also the presence of trust, cooperation, and shared progress.
