DIG DKR range chairs Introductory-cum-Crime review meeting

Ramban, Apr 27: The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Doda–Kishtwar–Ramban Range Ms. Sargun Shukla (IPS), today chaired an introductory cum crime review meeting of District Ramban at the Conference Hall, District Police Office Ramban. The meeting was attended by Shri Arun Kumar Gupta (JKPS), SSP Ramban, Shri Mujeeb-ur-Rahman (JKPS), Additional SP Ramban l, Shri Viqar Younus Batt (JKPS), DySP Headquarters Ramban, Shri Surinder Singh, SDPO Banihal Shri Kuldeep Raj, SDPO Gool, Shri Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, DySP DAR DPL Ramban, along with all SHOs and Incharge Police Posts of District Ramban. During the meeting the DIG reviewed the overall crime scenario and functioning of the district police and issued necessary directions to all officers. Special emphasis was laid on intensifying efforts under the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan,” with strict and decisive action against drug smugglers and traffickers. She stressed that no stone should be left unturned in eradicating the menace of drugs from society. The DIG also reviewed the preparedness for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and directed officers to identify and address any shortcomings well in advance to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the yatra. She further impressed upon all officers that personnel deployed for duties must remain in proper uniform and be thoroughly briefed by senior officers. Directions were also issued for conducting regular inspections by senior officers and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all police establishments, including Police Stations and Posts. In addition, the DIG directed officers to undertake a detailed SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis of available manpower (nafri) and resources to ensure their optimal utilization, improve operational efficiency, and address gaps in deployment and logistics. The DIG emphasized 100% execution of e-summons and directed for regular audit of CCTV cameras installed along the National Highway to ensure their proper functioning. Additionally officers were instructed to spread awareness among the general public regarding the toll-free emergency number 112 during PCPG meetings and other public interactions. District Police Ramban remains committed to maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, and strengthening community policing initiatives.
