Early Times Report
RAMGARH, Apr 30: The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), Women Development Cell, and SHE-Box Committee of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh collaboratively organized an awareness lecture on the SHE-Box (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box) Portal with the aim of fostering a safe, secure, and gender-sensitive academic environment.
The programme was conducted under the esteemed supervision and guidance of Prof. (Dr). Meeru Abrol, Principal, GDC Ramgarh, whose constant encouragement and support continue to strengthen initiatives related to women's safety and empowerment within the institution.
The awareness session was organized to sensitize students and staff members about the significance, accessibility, and effective utilization of the SHE-Box Portal-an online grievance redressal platform launched by the Government of India for addressing complaints related to sexual harassment at the workplace.
Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Nodal Officer of the SHE-Box Committee, delivered a comprehensive and informative lecture on the concept, features, and operational framework of the portal. She elaborated on how the platform serves as a confidential, transparent, and efficient mechanism for the timely redressal of complaints. She further emphasized the importance of creating awareness about legal rights, institutional support systems, and the collective responsibility of ensuring a respectful and harassment-free environment.
During the session, participants were guided through the online complaint registration process and were encouraged to actively raise their voices against any form of harassment or discrimination. The lecture also motivated students to disseminate awareness about the portal among their peers and within the broader community.
Faculty members were also present on the occasion and actively participated in the programme, demonstrating the institution's collective commitment towards this significant cause. Students and staff highly appreciated the initiative and acknowledged the college's proactive efforts in addressing issues related to women's safety and dignity.
The programme concluded with an engaging interactive session, where participants' queries were addressed, ensuring greater clarity and understanding regarding the portal and its functions.
This awareness programme stands as a testament to GDC Ramgarh's unwavering commitment to promoting gender equality, safeguarding women's rights, and upholding the values of dignity, safety, and inclusivity within the educational framework.
