| J&K police Kathua booked notorious drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act at Billawar | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, June 13: In a major success against drug peddlers, UNDER NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAAN J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS has booked one notorious drug peddler under the PITNDPS Act following multiple involvements in NDPS-related offences.
On the directions of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, a detention warrant vide Order No. PITNDPS 32 of 2026 dated 11-06-2026 was issued against the accused Bagh Shah S/o Yousuf Shah R/o Karandi Kalan Tehsil Marheen District Kathua a habitual drug peddler.
Today Police party of Police Station Billawar led by SHO Billawar under the supervision of SP Ops Upper Kathua and SDPO Billawar arrested the accused and executed the said warrant Under Section 3 of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988, after the approval of the competent authority.
The said accused has been found involved in the following NDPS cases:
1. FIR No. 118/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of P/S Lakhanpur.
2. FIR No. 55/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29/NDPS Act of P/S Billawar.
3. FIR No.56/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29/NDPS Act PS Billawar.
The accused is a repeated offender and had created a sense of fear among the public by his illegal activities. His detention under PITNDPS will send a strong message to other drug peddlers and anti-social elements.
After completion of necessary legal formalities, the accused has been lodged in District Jail Kishtwar, J&K.
