Two-week online Refresher Course in Commerce and Management concludes at University of Jammu

JAMMU, July 26: The Business School, University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), University of Jammu, today concluded a two-week online Refresher Course in Commerce and Management organised on the theme "Workplace Happiness, Mental Health and Well-being."
The refresher course brought together faculty members from universities and colleges across the country for two weeks of enriching academic deliberations and professional learning.
Speaking as the Chief Guest during the valedictory session, Prof. Alka Sharma congratulated the participants on successfully completing the programme and appreciated the organisers for conceptualising a refresher course addressing one of the most significant concerns in contemporary higher education-the well-being of teachers and learners.
She observed that academic excellence flourishes in institutions that prioritise happiness, mental health, ethical values and innovation. Prof. Sharma encouraged the participants to incorporate the knowledge, perspectives and practical strategies gained during the programme into their teaching, research, mentoring and institutional responsibilities. She further emphasised that faculty members play a pivotal role in nurturing resilient, compassionate and socially responsible future generations.
Earlier, Prof. Amisha Gupta, Director, The Business School and Course Coordinator, welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude to the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre for its valuable collaboration in organising the refresher course. Reflecting on the successful completion of the programme, she appreciated the overwhelming response received from faculty members across the country. She also acknowledged the significant contributions of the distinguished resource persons whose scholarly deliberations enriched the academic experience of the participants and appreciated the efforts of the organising committee and technical team for ensuring the smooth conduct of the online programme.
Presenting the concluding remarks, Prof. Sundeep K. Pandita congratulated the participants on successfully completing the refresher course and appreciated their enthusiastic participation throughout the programme. He reiterated that continuous professional development is essential for enhancing the quality of higher education and emphasised the need for teachers to regularly update their knowledge and teaching practices to meet the evolving needs of society and learners. He also appreciated the collaborative efforts of MMTTC and The Business School in organising the programme and expressed confidence that the learning outcomes of the course would positively influence the participants' academic and professional pursuits.
The participants appreciated the academic rigour, interdisciplinary approach and practical orientation of the programme. They observed that the sessions enhanced their subject knowledge and pedagogical competencies while inspiring them to adopt holistic approaches towards teaching, research and institutional development. They also described the interactive discussions, reflective exercises and exchange of diverse perspectives as valuable components of the programme that promoted professional growth and collaborative learning.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Saloni Devi, Course Co-coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, distinguished dignitaries, resource persons, participants, organising committee and the technical team for their valuable support in the successful conduct of the refresher course.
The valedictory session marked the successful conclusion of the two-week refresher course and reaffirmed the commitment of the University of Jammu, the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre and The Business School towards promoting excellence in higher education through continuous faculty development, academic collaboration and holistic professional growth.
