| Senior Citizens' Rejuvenation Centre Commemorates Kargil Vijay Diwas | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 26: A Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorative programme was held at the Senior Citizens' Rejuvenation Centre, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. BJP J&K Vice President Rekha Mahajan attended the programme as the chief guest. Centre President K S Samyal along with ,Patron Narinder gupta general secretary TC Taggar and other members, was present on the occasion.
The participants paid floral tributes to the brave soldiers who attained martyrdom during the 1999 Kargil War. The gathering remembered their extraordinary courage and invaluable contribution to protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
Addressing the gathering, Rekha Mahajan said Kargil Vijay Diwas symbolises the unmatched bravery, sacrifice and unbreakable resolve of the Indian Armed Forces. "Our soldiers fought in extreme weather and on treacherous mountain heights to reclaim every inch of the motherland. Their courage during Operation Vijay will continue to inspire generations and strengthen the spirit of patriotism among citizens," she said.
Centre President K S Samyal said the Kargil victory remains one of the proudest chapters in India's military history. He said such programmes help the younger generation understand the value of national unity and the sacrifices made by the armed forces.
Rekha Mahajan appreciated the Centre for organising the programme and involving senior citizens in promoting patriotism. |
