GDC Ramgarh organises anti-drug pledge ceremony

RAMGARH, July 30: The NSS Unit "Prabha"and NCORD Committee of Government Degree College (GDC), Ramgarh, organised an Anti-Drug Pledge Ceremony under the nationwide campaign "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat", reaffirming the institution's commitment to fostering a drug-free society and promoting healthy, responsible lifestyles among the youth.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal, GDC Ramgarh, who, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the vital role of educational institutions in shaping responsible citizens. She stressed that awareness, education, and collective action are key to protecting young people from the harmful effects of substance abuse and inspiring them to become agents of positive social change.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, Convener, NCORD Committee, elaborated on the objectives of the nationwide campaign and underscored the importance of community participation in eliminating the menace of drug abuse. She encouraged students to act as ambassadors of the campaign by spreading awareness among their peers and society, thereby contributing to the vision of a Drug-Free India.
As a mark of solidarity with the national initiative, all faculty members, staff, and students solemnly took the Anti-Drug Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to combating drug abuse, creating awareness about its adverse effects, and promoting healthy, responsible, and drug-free living. Faculty members, including Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Brham Dutt, Mr. Vijay Kumar, and Mr. Vikas Malhotra, actively participated in the pledge ceremony, reflecting the institution's collective resolve to support the vision of "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat" through awareness, community engagement, and social responsibility.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Snobar, NSS Programme Officer, and Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, Convener, NCORD Committee. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who pledged to remain vigilant against drug abuse and to work towards building a healthier, safer, and drug-free society.
