MLA Vikram Randhawa starts Rs 3.25 Crore Smart City Road

JAMMU, July 31: MLA Bahu, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today kick-started the ?3.25 crore Smart City project for upgradation of the road from Wave Mall to Transit Camp, Narwal, including development of a green strip on both sides of the road, end-to-end pavement and other allied works.
The programme was attended by Mandal President Surjeet Singh, along with a large gathering of local residents, party workers and prominent citizens.
While addressing the gathering, Ch. Vikram Randhawa said that the road was in a very poor and deteriorated condition, causing inconvenience to commuters and local residents for a long time. He said the project will provide a much-needed facelift to this important stretch and improve connectivity, road safety and the overall urban environment.
The MLA said that the project under the Smart City initiative goes beyond mere road construction, as it includes end-to-end pavement, development of green strips on both sides of the road and allied urban infrastructure works, giving the area a modern and improved look.
Ch. Vikram Randhawa expressed his gratitude to the CEO, Smarty City Jammu for taking up and facilitating this important development project. He said that coordinated efforts between the elected representatives and concerned departments are essential for delivering quality infrastructure and addressing the genuine problems faced by the people.
He reiterated his commitment towards strengthening civic infrastructure across Bahu Constituency and said that improving roads, drainage, public spaces, sanitation and other basic amenities remains among his top priorities.
The local residents and party workers welcomed the commencement of the project and expressed their appreciation to MLA Ch. Vikram Randhawa for taking up the long-pending issue of the poor road condition.
