JAMMU, July 31: "Green is the colour of life, nature, growth, harmony, and hope." Embracing this inspiring thought, the Pre-Primary Wing of Delhi Public School Jammu celebrated *Green Day* on *31st July 2026* with great enthusiasm and excitement. The event was thoughtfully designed to strengthen the understanding of the colour green while instilling in young learners a love for nature, healthy living, and environmental responsibility.
The school campus came alive with vibrant shades of green as the tiny tots arrived beautifully dressed in green attire, spreading freshness, positivity, and cheerful energy. The celebration began with the enthusiastic recitation of a Green Day poem, followed by a lively dance performance that captivated everyone with the children's infectious enthusiasm and radiant smiles.
Adding a meaningful experiential learning element to the celebration, each child brought a green fruit or vegetable and confidently spoke a few lines about it, describing its name, colour, taste, and health benefits. The activity not only reinforced the concept of the colour green but also enhanced the children's communication skills, vocabulary, confidence, and awareness of nutritious eating habits.
The celebration also provided a wonderful platform for creativity as the young learners enthusiastically participated in engaging art activities such as finger dabbing, scribbling, and ladyfinger printing. Using beautiful shades of green, they transformed simple worksheets into colourful masterpieces, fostering sensory exploration, fine motor development, imagination, and self-expression.
The Green Day celebration concluded on a joyful note, leaving the children with happy memories, meaningful learning experiences, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of nature. The event truly reflected the school's commitment to experiential learning by encouraging students to learn, explore, create, and care in a fun-filled and nurturing environment.
The school management under the visionary leadership of Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji (President-RCT), Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji (Pro-Vice Chairperson) and Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji (Director) along with Ms. Ruchi Chabra (Principal) and Staff, applauded the dedicated efforts of the Pre-Primary teachers for organizing such a vibrant and enriching celebration.
