| Farmers Welfare National Priority | | | In a farmer friendly decision, the Centre has extended the PM-KISAN scheme for the next five years till 2030-31 with a total outlay of over Rs 3.15 lakh crore.
This scheme was launched in February 2019 to provide eligible landholding farmer families with financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year. The amount is transferred directly into their bank accounts in three equal instalments. Nearly 4.5 lakh crore have been disbursed so far under this scheme.
The decision reflects continuity in policy and reinforces the government’s commitment to ensuring financial security for millions of farming families.
