Police arrest drug peddler with 2 Kg Ganja in Nowshera

RAJOURI, Aug 1: In its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Rajouri Police achieved success by arresting a drug peddler and recovering approx 2 Kg of Ganja like narcotic substance in the Nowshera area. During routine naka checking at Thalka Naka under the jurisdiction of Police Station Nowshera Police Party noticed individual who attempted to flee, the alert police personnel apprehended him. During his personal search, approx 2 Kg of Ganja like narcotic substance was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Anwar Hussain S/o Mohd Yasin R/o Palma District Rajouri. In this connection a Case FIR No. 151/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowshera, and the accused has been arrested. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and to identify any forward or backward linkages. Rajouri Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and urges the public to share any information related to drug trafficking so that the menace can be eradicated through collective efforts.
