Er Nazir Ahmad Yatoo Urges DC Budgam to Provide Immediate Relief
9/9/2026 11:25:37 PM
Early Times Report
BUDGAM, Sept 9: Prominent political activist Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo today visited Nagabal, Charar-i-Sharief, and interacted with local residents regarding the serious economic hardships being faced by people dependent on tourism-related activities in and around Yousmarg.
During the visit, residents expressed deep concern over unemployment, loss of livelihood and financial difficulties, particularly as the winter season is approaching. Many families in the area depend directly or indirectly on tourist activity for their income, and the disruption of tourism has severely affected their businesses and daily earnings.
Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo said that the administration must immediately recognise the difficulties being faced by these affected communities and extend necessary support during this challenging period.
He appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Budgam to provide basic relief, including essential food items and other necessary assistance, to families and people in the affected areas who have suffered financial losses due to the disruption of tourism activities.
"These people have depended on Yousmarg for their livelihood for years. With winter approaching and tourism activity disrupted, their difficulties are increasing every day. The administration must come forward with immediate relief and a proper rehabilitation and livelihood-support plan."
Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo further urged the administration to assess the losses suffered by local traders, transporters, workers and other tourism-dependent families and take immediate measures to restore tourism activities and protect the livelihoods of the affected population.
