JAMMU, Oct 24: BJP activists and supporters gathered in Hazuri Bagh today to pay Pushpanjali to the Iron Man of Jammu, Pt Prem Nath Dogra, on his 143rd birth anniversary. The event was marked by inspiring speeches and reflections on the life and legacy of this visionary leader.
Speaking on the occasion, Lect. Kulbhushan Kumar Sharma described Pt Prem Nath Dogra as a champion of unity and a true patriot who dedicated his life to serving the nation. "His unwavering commitment to the nation and its people serves as a shining example for us all," he added.
R.L.Kaith highlighted Dogra's passion for social service and politics, which led him to become a key figure in the Jammu Praja Parishad, a party he helped form in 1947 alongside Balraj Madhok. "The party served as a local political arm of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a right-wing Hindutva paramilitary organisation," he said.
Kimti Lal Jain recalled Dogra's fearless demand for the abolition of Article 370, which granted autonomous status to the state. "His unwavering stance led to his arrest, along with hundreds of party members, for demanding the adoption of the Indian flag in the region," he said.
Others present on the occasion emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from Pt Prem Nath Dogra's life and work. "Let us strive to build a stronger, more united India, guided by his vision and principles," they urged.
The event concluded with a call to action, urging all citizens to work towards the progress and unity of the great nation, inspired by the legacy of Pt Prem Nath Dogra.
