Early Times Report
REASI, Oct 24: The Indian Army organised a medical patrol at Batsiyala in Reasi District on 24 October 2026 to commemorate World Polio Day and spread awareness about polio prevention, timely vaccination and the importance of immunisation among the local population. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare practices and encourage community participation in safeguarding children against polio.
During the patrol, local residents were educated about the importance of administering polio vaccines to every eligible child and completing the prescribed immunisation schedule. Special emphasis was laid on the role of vaccination in preventing polio, protecting children's health and ensuring a healthier future for the younger generation.
The medical patrol also provided an opportunity to interact with the local population, address concerns related to immunisation and encourage families to actively participate in government vaccination programmes. The initiative highlighted the importance of community awareness and collective responsibility in maintaining a polio-free India.
Through such community outreach initiatives, the Indian Army continues to demonstrate its commitment to the health, well-being and welfare of people living in remote areas. The activity reinforced the Indian Army's efforts towards promoting healthcare awareness, strengthening community relations and contributing to a healthier and more informed society.
