JAMMU, Oct 25: BJP OBC Morcha organised a public programme at Ward No. 29, Booth No. 43, Jammu West, where party leaders and local residents gathered to listen to the 139th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popular radio programme, Mann Ki Baat.
The programme was attended by Braham Jyot Satti, State President, BJP OBC Morcha; Parshotam Pona, Social Media Incharge, OBC Morcha; Sanjay Verma, District General Secretary, OBC Morcha; and Parveen Badyal, District Spokesperson, OBC Morcha, along with other prominent persons and local residents.
In this episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to support local artisans, craftsmen and small businesses during the festive season by giving preference to locally made products. He stressed that buying indigenous products not only supports the hard work of local artisans but also strengthens the Vocal for Local campaign and contributes to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The Prime Minister also spoke about India's achievements in healthcare and technology, highlighting the completion of approximately 50 crore tele-consultations through the country's digital healthcare platform. He appreciated the growing contribution of young innovators and deep-tech startups associated with the IIT Madras ecosystem, underlining the important role of youth in taking India forward.
He also remembered the contribution of renowned physicist Narinder Singh Kapany, widely known as the Father of Fibre Optics, ahead of his 100th birth anniversary on October 31. Referring to Kapany's roots in Moga, Punjab, the Prime Minister highlighted his remarkable contribution to science and the recognition he brought to India on the global stage.
Speaking on the occasion, Braham Jyot Satti said that 'Mann Ki Baat' has become an effective platform for connecting people across the country and spreading positive messages through the inspiring work and achievements of ordinary citizens.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always encouraged people to take pride in their own country, support local businesses and recognise the talent of our people. His message of Vocal for Local is especially important during the festive season. When we buy products made by local artisans and small businesses, we support their families, protect our traditional crafts and contribute to the country's economy."
He further said that the achievements highlighted by the Prime Minister in healthcare, technology and scientific research reflect India's progress and the growing capabilities of its people. He added that the success of young innovators and the use of technology to improve public services are encouraging signs for the country's future.
The programme concluded in a positive atmosphere, with participants appreciating the Prime Minister's message and reaffirming their commitment to supporting local products, encouraging young talent and contributing to the development of their communities.
