Early Times Report
REASI, Oct 25: The Indian Army organised an awareness lecture on Women Empowerment for students at Keri, District Reasi, on 24 October 2026, as part of its ongoing community outreach initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality, education and social awareness among the younger generation.
The lecture focused on the importance of women's education, equal opportunities, self-reliance and their vital role in nation-building. Students were encouraged to challenge gender-based stereotypes, respect women's rights and contribute towards building an inclusive society based on equality, dignity and mutual respect.
The session also highlighted the significance of education, self-confidence, leadership and financial independence in empowering women to achieve their aspirations. Special emphasis was placed on inspiring students to recognise women's achievements across various fields, including the Defence Forces, education, healthcare, sports and public service.
The initiative aimed to instil progressive values, strengthen social responsibility and motivate students to become advocates of gender equality within their communities.
Through such meaningful outreach programmes, the Indian Army reaffirmed its commitment to women empowerment, youth development and social progress, while fostering stronger bonds of trust, cooperation and goodwill with the local population.
