SDPO frisks students in examination hall, detects several unfair means cases

POONCH, Mar 9: Giving a 'damn' to norms a police officer himself entered in a examination centre and frisked the students claiming he had detected several unfair means cases while CEO and SSP have termed the act unconstitutional, a sources said here today.
Sub Divisional Police Officer Mendhar Riyaz Tantray today entered in Examination centres No:- 4503 and 4504 housed in Government Boys Higher Secondary School where the paper of Chemistry of Class XII was scheduled to be held.
Firstly SDPO appeared in centre No: 4503 along with Naib Tehsildar Mendhar TA Shah and frisked the students. The Superintendent of the centre Mohammad Riyaz Khan said that SDPO has detected I unfair means cases in the centre, while two cases were detected in examination centre No: 4504.
The Superintendent of the centre Mohammad Yousuf, however, denied that no case of unfair means was detected in his centre.
Talking to Early Times, SDPO Riyaz Tantray said that following verbal complaints of people he frisked the students and detected 21 unfair means cases in both the centres. When contacted Chief Education Officer Poonch Mushtaq Ahmed asked as how can a police officer can enter in the examination centre and frisk the students when there was invigilators team deputed by the BOSE authorities present there.
Mushtaq said under no circumstances a police officer can enter the examination centre and start frisking.
Meanwhile SSP Rajiv Pandey termed the act of SDPO as unconstitutional.
