'Sophisticated' Cong leaders fail to enforce bandh in Jammu
9/10/2018 11:07:45 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 10: The publicized 'Bharat Bandh' call of the Congress party has failed to evoke any response in Jammu thanks to the sophistication among party leaders in the State. Facing wrath of the unprecedented hike in the prices of essential commodities, common masses in J&K were ready to support the bandh call but sophisticated Congress leaders have failed to establish communication with the people.
Despite in the opposition for the last four-year, Congress leaders of J&K still behaving like VIP and have failed to establish contact with the people at grass root level. Instead of seeking support of cross sections of the society for Bandh, Congress leaders had shown ego and asked block level leaders to approach people.
Today's Bandh call has exposed dubious character of Congress leadership because instead of channelzing anger of the people against hike in the prices of essential commodities, Congress leaders were more interested in photo sessions. Except symbolic protests for photo sessions Congress leaders did nothing to enforce Bandh.
Failure of the Congress leadership to encash peoples' anger has exposed that the incumbent party leadership is incapable of taking peoples' issue on the streets. There protests confined only to air-conditioned rooms by issuing press statements.
