Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 17: Even after five days since the militants took hostage PDP leader Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain and his family members besides decamped with the weapon of his PSO Mubashir Ahmed, Kishtwar police has continued its manhunt to nab the culprits who are probably hiding in town or its peripheral areas looking for a safe exit from high security siege laid by the security forces, the police and security forces had launched a major search and cordon operation in Kishtwar town and its adjoining villages of Hullar and Hunjala situated in the outskirts of Kishtwar town, the area close to the spot from where police recovered the vehicle used by the group of militants to escape from house of PDP leader after committing the crime.
As per the details available with "Early Times", after the intelligence agencies sounded fresh alert regarding the movement of militants, all the nakas entering Kishtwar town were alerted and the vehicles coming towards Kishtwar were stopped at Bus Stand area and were allowed to move only after proper frisking.
It was not only in Kishtwar town where the searches are being conducted but the security forces had also launched a massive search and cordon operation in Hullar, Bandreena and Hunjala areas. The operation according to sources was launched on the information shared by the Ex Militant who was detained by the police for questioning and during sustained questioning he also reveal the details pertaining to some safe hideout which according to the sources was busted by the security forces.
The sources though confirm to "Early Times", that some arms and ammunition along with some blankets had been reportedly recovered from the said hideout, but the security forces including Kishtwar police are maintaining silence over the fresh development.
Meanwhile the team of NIA officials who had arrived at Kishtwar had also joined the ongoing investigation following the details the militants who were involved in taking the PDP leader and his family hostage had confessed the killings of Parihar brothers and RSS leader and his PSO.
Since the Parihar brothers killing is being investigated by the NIA, the prime investigating agency of the country might take over the probe into the fresh incident of hostage and weapon snatching.
The two among the three militants that entered inside the house of PDP leader have been identified as Osama Javed and Zahid Hussain Sagar while the identity of the 3rd militant is yet to be ascertained.
