Reasi admin expunges illegal land entries

REASI, Mar 11: The Revenue authorities, on the direction of Deputy Commissioner, have expunged illegal entries against 2 lakh kanal State, Kahacharai, Common and Forest lands across the district.
The department, in its drive, has expunged entries against 106885 kanal, 17 marla forest land, 85728 kanal, 6 marla state land, 729 kanal, 13 marla kahacharai land and 5 kanal, 2 marla common land across 9 tehsils of the district.
As per Tehsil wise break up, illegal entries for 13162 kanal and 3 marla State Land has been expunged in tehsil Mahore, 12544 kanal in Arnas, 8603 kanal and 18 marla in Pouni, 6018 kanal and 8 marla in Reasi, 4646 kanal and 17 marla in tehsil Thakrakote, 1604 kanal and 14 marla in tehsil Bhomag and 39148 kanal and 6 marlas in tehsil Thuroo.
Similarly, illegal entries against 51343 kanal and 7 marla were expunged against Forest land in tehsil Mahore, 4890 kanal in tehsil Reasi, 13188 kanal and 4 marla in tehsil Thakrakote, 1732 kanal and 14 marlas in tehsil Bhomag and 35731 kanal and 12 marlas in tehsil Thuroo.
Appropriate eviction procedure would soon be initiated against the illegal occupants of the land. It is pertinent to mention that a vast area of forest as well as state land was occupied in tehsils Mahore and Thuroo.
