DC Kishtwar reviews progress of RTPCR testing and COVID- 19 Vaccination

Kishtwar, Mar 31: In view of the prevailing health emergency and sudden surge in the COVID-19 positive cases in Distict, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today reviewed the status of\ Rapid Antigen Testing/RTPCR testing and Covid-19 Vaccination in Distict Kishwar in a meeting of Health officers here at his office chamber DC office Complex Kishtwar.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal, Medical Superintendent, Distict Hospital Kishtwar Dr Parveez Iqbal Wani, District Immunization officer Kishtwar Dr Chander Prakash besides the BMOs and other officials among others.
During meeting DC directed the CMO Kishtwar to increase the testing by laying special focus on RTPCR testing besides to establish the vaccination centres at each panchayat and also to rope in the PRI and students in motivating and mobilising the beneficiaries for innoculation.
He further directed the Joint Director Planning to re-activate the Surveillance teams at each blocks which shall keep a track on the suspected persons and persons with outside UT travel history besides shall sensitize and motivate the target groups viz. persons with age 45 or above for taking vaccine.
DC urged all the BMOs to to take a lead in conducting vaccination drive in their respective blocks effectively and efficiently by involving the AWW,ASHA workers.
Furthermore he informed that the Block Diwas henceforth shall be conducted at all designated places following all the COVID19 protocols and SOPs besides avoiding unnecessary gathering.
In the meeting it was also informed that the check points/Nakkas at the Thatri which is the only entry point on the jammu Kishtwar national highway has been revamped besides the leftout check points will also be reactivated and the random sampling of all the travellers will be conducted on these check Nakkas to trace the influx of the infectious persons in the district.
