Khurram Parvaiz shifted to Tihar jail
12/5/2021 11:09:27 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 5: Khurram Parvez, who claimed to be the human rights activist was shifted to Delhi’s Tihar jail where two prominent separatist leaders namely Yasin Malik and Shabir Shah have already been lodged.
Interestingly, Khurram Parvez had termed the arrest of banned JKLF chief Yasin Malik’s arrest in the killings of Indian Air Force officers and kidnapping of Rubaiya Sayeed as “politically motivated” action.
“Fair trial is a globally recognized right for everyone. If you are suddenly pulling out old cases and not even allowing the accused to properly represent his case, then there would be question marks over it,” Khurram Parvez, had told after Yasin Malik was shifted to Tihar jail. He further added, “As of now, it seems like a political vendetta.”
Malik is lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail after he was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a two-year-old case of terror and separatist funding.
When the NIA arrested him in April 2019, he was already in Kot Bhalwal Jail but later shifted to Tihar Jail. Another top separatist Shabir Ahmed Shah, who was arrested in the year 2017 is also lodged in Tihar Jail. Meanwhile quoting the wife of Khurram Parveez, a Kashmir-based news agency reported that he (Khurram) has been sent to 3-week judicial custody and shifted to Tihar Jail on Saturday.
On November 22, National Investigation Agency raided Khurram’s house and took his phone, laptop, and books from his study, and later arrested him.
