| ‘LG Sahib give our school back’ | | |

Srinagar, Feb 21: Children of Orbit Girls School, a private school at Peerbagh, on Monday staged a protest against the merging of their school with another school.
“LG Sahib give our school back. Is this Beti Bacho, Beti Padhao campaign. If you don’t give our school back we will sit on the road and won't eat and drink anything,” said a 6-year old girl.
The school in question ‘Orbit Girls School’ according to parents has been merged with another school without taking them into confidence.
“We received a WhatsApp message from the Principal of the ‘Orbit Girls School’ on 17 December. We thought parents have been called over ‘fee row’ but to our shock, we were informed that this school has been merged with another school. The school administration took this unilateral decision after collecting fees from all students,” one of the parents said.
“We urge LG Manoj Sinha and Director School Education to intervene . We have been deceived,” the protesters said. |
