4 persons injured in accident inside Kishtwar project tunnel

KISHTWAR, May 27: Not learning the lesson from the recent Khoni Nallah incident in Ramban District of Jammu and Kashmir in which 10 labourers lost their due to negligence of construction company, today four employees of AFCON company engaged in construction of 1000 MW Pakal-Dool Power Project in Kishtwar District while working on seizer lift machine at Pressure Shaft inside the tunnel got injured and was shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar where they were undergoing treatment.
The injured labour told Early Times that the machine was not in good condition and was not responsive and the matter was brought into the notice of site incharge by them who did not pay any heed to the concern raised by them as a result of which this tragic incident happened in which four persons were injured.
The injured persons were identified by the official sources as Hans Raj Son of Om Lal Resident Cherji, Karan Singh son of Payrae Lal R/o Cherji , Baghat Singh son of Mangat Singh R/o Punjab & Mohammad Hussain son of Abdul Gani R/o Kishtwar.
As soon as the incident took place, the other labourers working inside the tunnel near Dool immediately rush the injured to District Hospital.
Senior police officials said that the FIR has been registered and investigation has been started.
In response to the allegations of the injured person, police officials said that it is the matter of the investigation and assured action against guilty persons involved in negligence that lead to this tragic incident.
