Frustrated over success of “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, terrorists step up attacks

Jammu, Aug 16: Frustrated over the overwhelming response of the people to the just concluded “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign terrorists, on the direction of their mentors sitting across the border, have stepped up attacks over the past week.
Two policemen attained martyrdom and a migrant labourer was killed in three terror attacks during the last three days in Kashmir Valley.
On Tuesday terrorists attacked two Kashmiri Pandit brothers in which one Sunil Kumar Bhat succumbed to his injuries while as brother Pitamber Bhat is struggle for life in the hospital.
Four Army jawans including one JCO attained martyrdom during a suicidal attack in the Darhal area of Rajouri.
On Independence Day two grenade attacks took place in Budgam and Srinagar districts in which two persons were injured.
On Monday a member of the minority community was injured in a grenade blast in the Gopalpora area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district.
Terrorists hurled a grenade at Gopalpora, leaving one member of the minority community injured. Identified as Karan Singh (20) son of Anil Kumar resident of Gopalpur, the injured was rushed to SMHS in Srinagar. His condition is stated to be stable.
On August 14, one policeman namely constable Sarfaraz Ahmad resident of Batote Ramban was injured during an encounter in the Nowhatta area of Srinagar city. He was evacuated to the hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
Police personnel namely constable Sarfaraz Ahmad resident of Batote Ramban who was injured in the attack succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom on Monday.
Sarfaraz was serving in IR 16 Bn and was on special duty at Police Station Nowhatta in Srinagar. While on duty, he was attacked by terrorists and got injured. On 15-08-2022 he succumbed to his injuries at Army Hospital Badami Bagh Srinagar.
Similarly, on August 13, terrorists killed SPO Mohammad Tahir Khan in a grenade attack in Qaimoh Kulgam in south Kashmir.
