J&K Cong facing worst-ever financial crisis, party’s coffer is almost empty
10/15/2022 11:32:45 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 15: The newly appointed president of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Vikar Rasool Wani is finding it difficult to run the day-to-day affairs of the party due to financial crises.
Due to the non-availability of party funds, Vikar Rasool Wani has reportedly asked senior party leaders to contribute to organize the coming functions of the party. Highly placed sources in the party said that J&K Congress has virtually become bankrupt due to the non-availability of funds in the party’s coffer. Wishing anonymity, a senior Congress leader told The Early Times that when Vikar Rasool Wani has taken charge as president of the Pradesh Congress Committee the account of the party was almost dry. “From the very first day after his appointment as the PCC chief Vikar Rasool Wani is facing financial crisis due to non-availability of party funds”, sources said, adding, “newly appointed PCC chief is not aware where party funds have been gone?”.
Sources said that lakhs of rupees were collected during the membership drive but the amount was not handed over to Vikar Rasool Wani. Sources said that instead of providing enough funds to smoothly run the day-to-day affairs of the party, some leaders at the central level have also forced the J&K unit to spend huge funds on their blue-eyed.
On August 16, Vikar Rasool Wani was appointed as the new president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC).
