SFA under scanner for PDP-regime scam
10/22/2022 11:28:33 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 22: The State Football Academy has come under the scanner of the authorities for allegations of a multi-crore scam during the previous regime, while the Jammu and Kashmir government is set to order a high level probe.
Sources said the government has received credible inputs that the SFA, since its inception during the Peoples Democratic Party led government, was being “misused to benefit some quarters close to a shady coterie.”
Sources said while the “very inception of the SFA was under the scanner of the authorities” what has come to fore is that crores of rupees have been misappropriately used to benefit some quarters close to the previous regime.
Sources said in brazen violation of service conduct rules, some of the government employees posted at the SCFA were drawing salary and other benefits from multiple quarters.
In one such case, the official documents reveal that a brother duo from Srinagar “grabbed millions from the SFA in violation of norms.”
While the brother duo, government employee were already drawing salary from their parent department, SFA was giving them “additional salary.”
“Apart from this the brother duo grabbed millions in the name of their hotel from the same SFA,” said a senior official in the know of the matter.
“How can a government employee draw salary and other perks from multiple sources and how come where the government employees be given millions from the SFA account to run their family hotel? These are the shockers which the Modi government cannot tolerate. A high level inquiry has become the need of the hour,” said a senior official, on the condition of anonymity.
It was reliably learnt that some quarters in the corridors of power in New Delhi got to know about the allegations of multi crore scam and have asked the Jammu and Kashmir administration to order a probe. “The SFA inquiry will open a pandoras box of troubles for many,” said the official.
