Northern Army Commander reaches ground zero, gunfight resumes in Rajouri

Jammu, May 6: As gunfight between trapped terrorists and security forces resumed late midnight, Northern Command Army Commander, Lieutenant General, Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday morning reviewed the operational situation at ground zero on the 'Operation Trinetra' ongoing in Kandi belt of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Army spokesman said that Army Commander, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi at Ground Zero, reviewed the operational situation on the ongoing operations at Kandi in Rajouri where contact was re-established with terrorists.
He was briefed on all aspects of the operations by ground commanders, he added.
Earlier, he said that contact again was established with terrorists at 0115 hours and firing started.
Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Army Commander along with senior officials will pay tributes to the bravehearts in a wreath laying ceremony here at Air Force station, Jammu.
Five soldiers got martyred and one Major rank officer sustained injuries in an ensuing gunfight on Friday.
