Kashmir youth netas to float new party

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 14: Even as the Assembly elections are awaited in J&K for five years now, Kashmir is set to float another political party.
Sources said some young politicians from Kashmir have been lobbying in the corridors of power that they be given a clearance for floating of a new political party in the valley.
It was reliably learnt that at least two politicians, both of whom are also elected representatives at a municipal body, look ahead to float the party in league with some “like minded faces.” Sources said in the past, the duo was affiliated with a same political party and that been having strained relations that time.
“Both of them had subsequently left the party. While one of them had joined another party, the second one couldn’t get any good offer,” said a source in the know of the matter.
The sources said duo has been lobbying with some youth faces from various parties and individuals that there was a need to float a new political party in Kashmir.
Sources said some of the group members even visited New Delhi in connection with the plan “seeking clearance and funding.”
Sources however said a clearance for “such a project would be a bit difficult as the many of them come with baggage.” “There are numerous complaints including past links with anti-national elements globally, so any such clearance will be a bit difficult,” said an observer in the know of the matter in the national capital.
The sources said “This group of youth is apprehensive of getting good mandate from any party in the much awaited Assembly elections and thus look ahead to float their own party.”
It was reliably learnt that around three years ago, most of the members of this upcoming group had been “at loggerheads and were trying all sorts of leg-pulling, but now things are changing.”
“In politics you have no permanent friends but only permanent interests.” Despite repeated attempts the said politicians couldn’t be contacted for comments.
