Bahut yarana lagta hai: BJP leader relishes Wazwan with PDP counterpart
5/27/2023 10:05:01 AM
ET Report

Jammu: In a sudden show of affection, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janta Party shared table with his counterpart from the Peoples Democratic Party at a wedding in Srinagar personally feeding a spoonful to the other man.
Interestingly the duo sat over Wazwan party exactly a year after the PDP leader was released from prison.

Sources said BJP leader was seen friendly towards the PDP leader as the two shared table and decided to relish Wazwan together at a wedding of their common friend at the Nigeen Club in Srinagar.

Sources said the two spoke to each other at length and that the BJP leader was seen personally feeding “his friend from the PDP” with a spoon.

The said PDP leader had been detained for months after the abrogation of the so called special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

The said leader was released from the jail on May 25 2022. He was granted bail after 18 months in a terror-related case by the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court which said the evidence gathered by the prosecution was “too sketchy” to deny him the relief.

In its 15-page order, the bench had asked him to present himself before the investigating officer as and when required to and not leave the union territory without the prior permission of the trial court.

He was first arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on November 25, 2020 and got his bail on January 9, 2021. However, he was not released from jail in Jammu and was arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Interestingly that time the BJP leadership had been averse to release of the said PDP leader.
Despite repeated attempts the two leaders were not available for comments.

One of the witnesses said it was a “courtesy interaction at the wedding and had nothing to do with politics.”
