Rebellion in Apni Party: Aides confront Altaf Bukhari in public
5/29/2023 11:02:06 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 29: The Apni Party is facing “tough time as its President and former Minister, Altaf Bukhari is being “openly confronted” by his aides including a senior youth politician of the party.
While one such youth politician had resigned from a prime chair in the party some weeks ago, he now openly contradicts the party chief on “policy matters.” A close aide of the said politician, on the other hand, has been openly questioning Altaf Bukhari through press notes and on social media hinting that the party is running into “rough weather.” “Kehwa Ji who is close to the Apni Party leader has been openly challenging Bukhari Ji which means that actually the party leaders are behind this drama to create a scene in the party,” said a political observer on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said ideally the party should have sought explanation from its senior cadre, who also enjoys a key position at a civic body in Srinagar over the “scene being create against the party president.”
“But the way the party is silent over such naked dance of questions only suggests that all is not well in the party,” said a source keeping eye on the developments.
Sources said the duo politician had been close to Bukhari and would seek his “blessings of sorts from him from time to time but that suddenly indiscipline was being created by the two.”
Sources said some of the party leaders are of the opinion that disciplinary action should be initiated against the party leaders who are trying to weaken the “Apni Party.”
“Such faces have forgotten that they are in power as elected representatives only due to the support and resources of the party and that such sinister designs of theirs should not be tolerated in a democratic setup,” said an analyst.
Despite repeated attempts Altaf Bukhari, and the other two politicians were not available for comments. But a party leader confirmed that the matter has been brought to the notice of the Apni Party executive body.
