LIC chairperson offers relief measures for Balasore tragedy victims

NEW DELHI, June 5: LIC of India, deeply saddened by the tragic train accident in Balasore, Odisha on 02.06.2023, has announced special measures to support and expedite claim settlements for those affected. Siddhartha Mohanty, Chairperson of LIC, expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families.
Siddhartha Mohanty further declared several concessions to alleviate the hardships faced by claimants of LIC policies and the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. In addition to registered death certificates, lists of casualties published by Railway Authorities, Police, or any State or Central Government Authorities will be accepted as proof of death. To assist claimants, dedicated Help Desks have been established at the Divisional and Branch levels to address queries and provide necessary support.
LIC is committed to ensuring the swift settlement of claims and reaching out to affected families promptly. Claimants are encouraged to contact their nearest LIC Branch/Division/Customer Zone for further assistance or reach out to the call center at 02268276827.
