Shocking complaints’ forced BJP for ‘organizational changes’
8/13/2023 2:01:31 PM
ET Report

Jammu: Even as the Bharatiya Janta Party recently relieved three of its leaders of crucial assignments in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said there were “shocking complaints” against the trio.

While the decisions in this regard were taken by the BJP President J&K Ravinder Raina who “made some organizational changes” relieving the trio of crucial charges, the sources said there were such complaints that Raina couldn’t stop himself from immediately picking up the matter with the national level leadership in New Delhi “lest things go out of control.”

Sources said during his meetings with the disgruntled leaders of Kashmir province, Raina got “shocking inputs” and conveyed the same to his superiors in the party who asked him to initiate action without delay.

Sources said the Raina got inputs that the trio had crossed “all limits of indiscipline and that in the garb of claiming to be party loyalists the trio had been playing with the party image to meet personal greed.”

“Several details including circumstantial evidence were brought to his (Raina’s) notice by the senior party leaders from Kashmir,” said the sources.

The sources said the disgruntled leaders had told Raina that were being ignored at the cost of new “chamchas who were actually playing with the image of party which leaves no space for any error indiscipline.”

Sources said besides the three faces, a few more newcomers could face action in the coming days for trying to be “over smart.”

It’s pertinent to mention on the third day of his “emergency stay” in Kashmir, Raina on August 11 evening had issued orders relieving three party leaders of the charge they were holding.

Observers said Raina’s decision was like that of “putting the erring lot under attachment to douse the flames.”

Interestingly all the three leaders have been relieved of any responsibility for the party affairs in Kashmir and have been called back to Jammu.
