HYDERABAD, Sept 1: NMDC, a Navratna Miner under the Ministry of Steel, has achieved outstanding performance in August 2023. The company produced 3.41 million tonnes and sold 3.54 million tonnes of iron ore during the month, marking its best-ever August in terms of production and sales. This performance represents a growth of 38% in production and 25% in sales compared to the same period last year (CPLY).
These impressive figures have taken NMDC's production total for the fiscal year 2023-24 to 16.56 million tonnes and sales to 17.43 million tonnes. This cumulative production reflects a 23% increase, while sales have surged by 30% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge), commented on this achievement, stating, "These are our best-ever August and cumulative results, a testament to our relentless pursuit of 50 million tonnes production this fiscal year." He congratulated his team for their outstanding performance and emphasized NMDC's pivotal role in promoting self-reliance by consistently supplying high volumes of high-grade iron ore.
The CMD further highlighted NMDC's aspirations to transform into a global, sustainable, technology-driven company with enhanced production capacity and a commitment to setting new industry benchmarks. This remarkable performance in August underscores NMDC's dedication to achieving its goals and contributing to India's industrial growth.
