TRF aide arrested, 2 hand grenades, cash recovered

Srinagar, Oct 11: Security forces arrested a militant associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s shadow group “The Resistance Front” in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Wednesday.
They said on October 10, on a specific input of militant movement in the Ushkara area, a joint Naka was established by Baramulla Police, Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles, MI and 53 Bn CRPF.
“During naka checking, suspicious movement of one person coming towards naka point by foot was observed. While seeing police party and security forces, the suspect person tried to flee from the spot but alert naka party apprehended him tactfully,” a police statement said.
“During preliminary questioning, he was identified as Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Ushkara Baramulla. During his search, 2 hand grenades & cash amounting to Rs. 40,000 was recovered from his possession,” police said.
In this regard, a case under sections UA (P) & Arms Act was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been taken up.
