DGP sanctions scholarship for wards of serving police personnel

Jammu, Nov 29: To boost the morale and instil competitiveness among the wards of serving Police personnel, Director General of Police J&K Shri R. R. Swain has sanctioned meritorious scholarship of rupees 19.62 lakh in favour of 290 wards of serving police personnel.
Vide PHQ order, meritorious scholarship of rupees 3,15,000 has been sanctioned in favour of 31 wards of serving police personnel for securing 80% and above marks in the annual examination of graduation/post-graduation during the academic session 2022-23. Rupees 18000 has been sanctioned to a ward for securing 94.5% marks in MBA, while 12000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 12 wards for securing above 80% marks in different post-graduation examinations. Similarly, rupees 8500 each has been sanctioned in favour of 18 wards for securing above 80% marks in different graduation examinations.
Vide another PHQ Order, meritorious scholarship of rupees 16,47,000 has been sanctioned in favour of 259 wards of serving police personnel for securing above 80% marks in the annual examination of 12th class during the academic session 2022-23. Rupees 7200 each has been sanctioned in favour of 78 wards of serving police personnel who have secured 90% and above marks in the annual examination of class 12th during the academic session 2022-23, while rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 181 wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80%-90% marks in the annual examination.
The meritorious scholarship amount is sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
The meritorious scholarship schemes of Jammu and Kashmir Police include scholarships for wards of serving/deceased/martyred Police personnel/SPOs for doing exceptional in different classes. Special reward is also given to the students who perform exceptionally in the college/universities and technical courses. Rewards are also given to the wards who crack competitive exams like UPSC, JKPSC, NEET, NET, CSIR etc.
