Rohingya women sellers managed to secure important official documents | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 1: After busting two gangs involved in selling Rohingya women in different parts of Kashmir, authorities have recovered official documents like domicile, Aadhar, and ration cards from the possession of some of the arrested Rohingya kingpins. Highly placed sources said that living illegally in different parts of the Jammu region, Rohingyas involved in trafficking women from Myanmar via Cox’s bazaar of Bangladesh to Kashmir have links in the administration so they managed some official documents. Sources said that Manzoor Alam son of Mohammad Ilyas a Rohingya national, who was a kingpin in selling women in Kashmir Valley, is an “influential person and has links with some agents in the administration. Reports Manzoor Alam was earlier arrested in Jammu in 2022 in the case of trafficking females to Kashmir Valley but he managed to get released from the custody of the police. As reported earlier, district administration Poonch of Jammu had already ordered an inquiry to single out officials who were responsible for issuing Aadhar and ration cards to a resident of Myanmar living in the Mendhar area. Poonch Police had booked a Rohingya man for managing an Aadhar card and ration card in the border area Mendhar. Earlier Kishtwar Police had arrested a Rohingya woman for fraudulently obtaining a domicile certificate. According to police a Rohingya resident identified as Mohammad Noman son of Mohibullah aged 35 years, resident of Myanmar, presently living in the house of Nazir Hussain son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Dhargloon Tehsil Balakote who married Nazir Husain daughter namely Naseem Akhtar entered into the criminal conspiracy along with employees of different departments and prepared illegal/ forged Adhaar card and Ration card. |
