Early Times Report

Srinagar, Feb 25: Despite National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah announcing that his party would contest the forthcoming Parliamentary polls alone, J&K Congress Party Chief Vikar Rasool Wani on Sunday expressed optimism over Congress, NC and PDP fighting the elections together.
“Talks are underway with regional political parties and good news for people of J&K will come soon. BJP, its agencies and godi-media employed every effort to break the INDIA alliance and resolve of its constituents but they failed in this attempt,” Wani told reporters here.
He said, “Today every party of the alliance is returning to the bloc. In J&K talks are underway with NC and PDP, and soon you will see there will be good news for people of Jammu & Kashmir. All three parties will fight Parliamentary polls in J&K together.”
Pertinently,
“Today every party of the alliance is returning to the bloc. In J&K talks are underway with NC and PDP, and soon you will see there will be good news for people of Jammu & Kashmir. All three parties will fight Parliamentary polls in J&K together.”
n February 15 this year NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah had said, “As far as seat sharing in J&K is concerned, NC will contest alone and there’s no doubt about it.”
Later, NC vice-president Omar Abdullah had stated that talks are on with the Congress for an arrangement in three of the six Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. “We were a part of the INDIA alliance and we still are. Things have been taken out of context. The main idea of the grouping is to defeat the BJP for there is no point in sailing in two boats,” he had said.
On speculations of alliance with NDA, Omar Adbdullah had said that the party has “no connection” with the NDA. “Neither we are going to knock on their doors in the future nor our doors are open for them. Today, our focus is to stop BJP and for this we have informally discussed seat sharing with the Congress.”
