Srinagar, Mar 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address a public rally at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on March 7.
According to the details available with Early Times the venue for the Prime Minister's rally has been changed from SKICC on Dal Lake banks to Bakshi Stadium in view of large gatherings. Around 25000-30000 people are expected to join this mega rally.
Sources said that Bakshi Stadium has been chosen as the venue because a large number of people are expected to attend PM Modi’s rally.
A large number of people including those from the civil society and various local organisations have exhibited interest in attending the Prime Minister’s programme in Srinagar city.
This will be the second visit by PM Modi to J&K since February 20, the day he addressed a massive public rally in Jammu where he also inaugurated projects worth Rs 32000 crore.
Security has been beefed up in the summer capital, especially around the Bakshi Stadium, the new venue of his rally. The surveillance has been beefed up in other parts of Srinagar and additional check posts have come up for frisking to monitor movement of people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled visit to Kashmir on March 7 is his first visit to the Valley since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The last time the Prime Minister visited Kashmir was in February 2019.
