Workers worried as senior Congress leaders taking elections casually

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 11: Congress workers on the Jammu-Reasi Lok Sabha seat are worried about the attitude of the senior party leaders who are hesitating to actively join the campaign.
Although the party candidate for the Jammu-Reasi Lok Sabha seat Raman Bhalla has intensified his campaign with the support of his supporters in different localities, senior leaders have yet not joined the campaign trail to actively support the party candidate.
While an aggressive campaign is going on in the Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary segment where Choudhary Lal Singh is the party candidate on the Jammu-Reasi seat same spirit is missing due to the casual approach of the senior leaders.
Sources said most of the senior leaders have yet not arranged public meetings in their respective areas due to groupism and factionalism in the party.
“Except for visiting party office to mark their presence before the visiting dignitaries from outside the J&K, most of the senior leaders prefer to remain to stay in their homes amid campaigning”, sources said and added that grassroots party workers have expressed their anger against such attitude of the senior leaders who are taking the election casually.
“On the one hand entire machinery of BJP is working round the clock to ensure victory of party candidates on both the Lok Sabha seats of Jammu province while on the other hand, Congress leaders are not ready to come out of their homes”, sources said and added that many senior leaders rarely pickup phones of the workers who want to get their directions.
Today former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand joined a rally with Raman Bhalla at Akhnoor. Today was the first time that a senior leader has joined the party candidate in campaigning.
