Srinagar, Apr 14: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone on Sunday ridiculed National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah for contesting Lok Sabha polls from Baramulla constituency, calling him a "tourist". “I was expecting a Kashmiri political leader to contest elections from Baramulla and not a tourist. We are tourist-friendly people, and let him fight elections there," Lone told reporters while referring to Omar Abdullah’s decision to contest from Baramulla parliamentary constituency. Regarding the National Conference's role in Kashmir's history, Lone alleged, "We have been victims of the NC-BJP alliance. My father was assaulted in their regime." He accused the National Conference of being complicit in human rights violations, stating, "They belong to that minority who jailed, booked people randomly under PSA, fired bullets, and made a graveyard in every nook and corner of Kashmir." |
