Srinagar, Apr 15: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old man from Sopore Sub District allegedly stabbed his mother to death Sunday night.
The deceased woman was stabbed to death by her son, Amir Farooq Wani, a resident of Hadipora village, Rafiabad. "There was an argument between the two when other family members were in the house. In a fit of anger, Wani attacked his mother with a sharp weapon," police said.
"The accused fled from the spot but was arrested from the village."
The body of the lady was later shifted to Sub-District Hospital Sopore for medical and legal formalities.
Police have registered a case and taken up the investigation.
As the news about the death spread, villagers assembled at the house of the victim and demanded stern punishment to the accused. |
