Early Times Report

Jammu, May 17: On Friday, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) Jammu filed a supplementary chargesheet against two terrorists, including a former BJP leader who turned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative, for their involvement in numerous terrorist activities in the Kandi-Budhal area of Rajouri district.
Altaf Hussain Shah, also known as “Talib Hussain,” was arrested in July 2022.
Although BJP leadership wasted no time in distancing from Talib Hussain, many pictures of top party leaders with Talib Hussain had gone viral after his arrest on July 2022. Prior to his arrest, he worked for a news channel and led the IT cell of the BJP's Minority Wing. Villagers in Tuksan, located in the Reasi district of Jammu province, apprehended him along with another terrorist. The second terrorist was identified as Faizal Ahmed Dar, son of Bashir Ahmed Dar, from Pulwama, and he is categorized as a terrorist.
Talib Hussain is also linked to the Udhampur blast and twin blasts in Rajouri district, and he was previously charged with the murder of a toddler, the nephew of a BJP leader in Rajouri.
An official handout from the J&K Police detailed that a significant case of terrorism was registered at Police Station Mahore.
The police and security forces arrested two terrorists in the Budhal area with large quantities of automatic weapons and other war-like materials.
Following their sustained interrogation, additional recoveries of sticky grenades, hand grenades, and IEDs were made.

d involvement of more associates, the investigation was transferred to the SIA Jammu.
During interrogation, the terrorists confessed to several acts of terrorism, including killings, injuries, attacks on innocent people, throwing grenades at a wedding, and planting IEDs in crowded areas of Kandi-Budhal, causing extensive damage to government properties.
They were acting on behalf of Mohammad Qasim, also known as Salman and Waseem, a top-ranking "A" grade terrorist of LeT.
Qasim, originally from Angralla district Reasi, had exfiltrated to Pakistan for arms training in 1990.
The accused received large quantities of arms, ammunition, and other war-like stores via drone drops in the Lamberi area of Rajouri district, subsequently relocating them to Kandi Budhal for terrorist activities under instructions from Pakistani handlers.
Further investigation led to the arrest of two more associates of the LeT module by the SIA Jammu. They, too, confessed to their involvement in various terrorist acts and the transportation of automatic weapons and ammunition from Lamberi to Kandi-Budhal with Talib Hussain Shah. They had joined LeT voluntarily, motivated by Pakistani handlers."The deep-rooted conspiracy of the LeT module to expand their terrorist activities in the Rajouri district and wage war against the sovereignty and integrity of India has been exposed with the arrest of four active terrorists. The investigation continues to identify and arrest more associates of the Lashkar-e-Taiba module," stated the police spokesperson.
