SOLAN, May 20: The Himachal Pradesh Library Association (HPLA) held a significant meeting on May 19, 2024, at the Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT). The event, led by Dr. Suresh K Chauhan, Deputy Librarian at JUIT, began at 11:00 AM with a warm welcome from Prof. A S Chandel, UGC Emeritus Fellow.
Dr. Chauhan provided an insightful overview of HPLA, initiating discussions on various agenda items. Key highlights included the General Body election of HPLA and the inauguration of a dynamic new website. The discussions covered essential topics such as finalizing the HPLA logo, addressing vacancies in libraries across the state, enhancing the proficiency of library professionals, and fostering collaborative efforts.
Under the guidance of Gautam Bahl, appointed Returning Officer for the HPLA election, it was decided that the existing governing body would continue until the next election cycle.
