Special Judge CBI Bala Jyoti sends another accused on 5-day remand

Jammu, July 11: Special Judge CBI Bala Jyoti on Thursday sent another accused in Sub-Inspector paper leak scam for 5-day Enforcement Directorate remand.
The ED has arrested one more accused Anil Kumar in the SI paper leak scam.
Today Accused Anil Kumar son of Om Parkash of village Lahroda, Tehsil Narnaul, District Mahendragarh, Haryana was produced before Special Judge CBI, Bala Jyoti under proper custody by IO Rahul Verma, Deputy Director, Enforcement Directorate, Sub Zonal Office, Jammu.
The IO prayed for a 7-day remand of the accused.
The Special Judge after hearing Special PP Ashwani Khajuria for the ED
> Special Judge CBI Bala Jyoti on Thursday sent another accused in Sub-Inspector paper leak scam for 5-day Enforcement Directorate remand.
> The Special Judge after hearing Special PP stated that the case is at initial stage, as such he is remanded to ED custody for 5 days.
> The accused is involved in serious economic offences. He shall be subjected to regular medical examination under rules.
> The accused shall be produced in the court by the IO after expiry of the remand period.
and after perusal of case diaries and entire material on record stated that it transpires that since accused was arrested on 10/7/2024 and investigation of the case is at initial stage, as such he is remanded to E.D custody for a period of 05 days w.e.f. 11/7/2024.
“Moreover he is involved in serious economic offences.
He shall be subjected to regular medical examination under rules. Accused is again apprised of his right to engage counsel and access to medical aid. Accused shall be produced in the court by the IO after expiry of the remand period. The IO is also directed to expedite the investigation,” the Special Judge CBI observed.
